Description: A rollback in state mine safety laws.
Date:February 26, 2015
Voting Body: 100-member House of Delegates
The Vote: An amendment to include an “economic impact study” in the bill. Even though the new Republican leadership touted “economic impact studies” for numerous issues at the beginning of the session, this amendment was voted down. It’s important to note that by the end of the session, the Republican leadership only called for one legislative issue to undergo an “economic impact study” -- so-called “Right to Work.”
