If you are a candidate seeking and would like your candidacy considered for endorsement by the West Virginia American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (West Virginia AFL-CIO), please complete the biographical data section and essay question of the questionnaire.
If you are seeking reelection to a legislative office or were previously endorsed by the WV AFL-CIO you can opt out of the essay and let your labor roll call vote be counted. The candidate’s questionnaire must be submitted by Friday February 16th, 2024. A candidate failing to submit a completed questionnaire by the return date will not be considered for endorsement.
- All completed candidate questionnaires will be made available to all members of the WV AFL-CIO State and Central Labor Council (CLC) Committees on Political Education (COPE) for review and consideration of endorsement.
- Legislative, County, and City Candidates-Please be advised: The Central Labor Council whose jurisdiction includes a candidate’s respective district may contact the candidate to request a personal interview, following receipt of a completed questionnaire. County and City candidates’ endorsement considerations will be decided by the Central Labor Council.
- A final decision on the 2024 Primary Election endorsements will be made by the West Viriginia AFL-CIO COPE on March 15th, 2024, and published at a later date.
